Name, brand and logo
Beginning January 1, 2005, we began working under a new brand, Hypoteční banka, and a new logo. Up through December 31, 2005 we used the business name "Českomoravská hypoteční banka, a.s.", effective January 1, 2006 the bank was renamed to "Hypoteční banka, a.s.".
History
The bank was established on January 10, 1991, originally as a universal bank of a regional character. In September 1995 we were authorised to issue mortgage debentures, thus becoming the first bank specialised only in mortgage loans in the Czech Republic. Since June 2000 the majority shareholder has been Československá obchodní banka, a.s. (ČSOB) through whom we are incorporated into the strong ČSOB Financial Group.
Market position
We are pleased and concurrently bound by being the leader in the field of mortgage loans both for private individuals for a long time. Concurrently we are the largest issuer of mortgage debentures in the Czech Republic.
Share capital and main shareholder
Share capital is CZK 5 076 331 000 and our majority shareholder is ČSOB holding 100%.
Our strategy
We promote the so-called multibrand strategy and thus we offer mortgage loans both under our brand (Hypoteční banka) and in our business network and prepare mortgage loans for our parent, ČSOB, Postal Savings Bank (Poštovní spořitelna) and Citibank. Everything indicates that we have set out in the right direction and that is why we plan to enlarge co-operation with other partners.
Business network
Our business network consists of 12 branches (Praha, Hradec Králové, Liberec, Teplice, Karlovy Vary, Plzeň, České Budějovice, Pardubice, Brno, Zlín, Olomouc and Ostrava), mortgage offices, consultancy points and a large network of mortgage advisors throughout the entire Czech Republic.
